In November 2014, I started the NaNoWriMo challenge. I knew I’d never be able to knock out 50,000 words in a day, so I set a goal to write at least 30 minutes a day. It took me a long time to finally finish the story into a workable manuscript.

For the most part, I’d kept my writing a secret from my family. So, when we met up tonight for a birthday celebration, I told them the news about my mystery project and gave them each a printed version of the manuscript.

It’s a bit surreal that this silent project I’ve been working on for over two years is now in a tangible form. I’m excited to get to read the physical copy and hear some feedback from others.
